SEO Link Analysis FireFox Plugin - AWESOME!
A long time ago on this blog I did a few posts about how to use the Google Webmaster Tools to see where your links are coming from and also what anchor text is being used. I have also talked about how to use the Yahoo! Site Explorer to spy on where your competition is getting their links from.
Well, now you can do both of these things from Yahoo! with the SEO Link Analysis plugin by Joost de Valk. One of the problems with the Google Webmaster Tools is that you can’t find out a lot about your competition. But with Yahoo! Site Explorer you could see at least where the links were coming from for anybody. Now with this cool little plugin you can see not only where the links are coming from but also what is the anchor text of the links your competition has. There are multiple uses for this, so use your creativity.
Here’s the link to the plugin: SEO Link Analysis
One heads up. Sometimes when you go to install it, you’ll find that it doesn’t do anything. If this happens to you, do a right click and choose ‘Save Link As…’ and save the file to your desktop. Then open the file using FireFox and it will install the plugin.
I hope that helps!

There are quite a few great SEO-related pugins for Firefox. Besides SEO Link Analysis I use SearchStatus.
I’ve been reading your site for quite a while, and I like it alot. We are in the process to set up a web based feed reader on the Internet to bring something back to you guys around. Would you like us to publish your feed? There will be a link back to your original post on every entry.

This is a great seo tip and a great plug-in. Being able to see right where competitors are getting their links from plus the anchor text is a huge advantage to getting good rankings faster and easier for your own sites.

I agree this plug-in is awesome. I used to have to manually click on the links to see what is going on! This plug-in saves so much time and is so useful. Looks like someone has some secrets : “There are multiple uses for this, so use your creativity.”

Sounds like a great plugin but when I try to install it, it does nothing. I tried the other method of saving it, but it still does nothing. I do get a username/password prompt when Firefox restarts though… which i disregard and it continues as normal :S

I’ve resisted going to FireFox so far as I’ve been complacently content with IE. But, this plug-in sounds too good to pass up. I’ve downloaded it. Now, I’ve got to say a ceremonial goodbye to IE and grit my teeth and make the switch. Thanks for the resource.

Thanks. The plugin looks useful. Just wanted to point out that I think Yahoo is generally much better at finding backlinks because of its “link” and “linkdomain” commands. It’s much better than Google!

I’ve used this in the past and found it quite useful, especially for checking supplemental links at the time - however when that became less of an issue, I must have uninstalled it to cut down on my number of extensions as I tend to have a lot running!

The best tool ever for finding out what links your competitors have is SEO Elite. You have to buy it, but it’s worth it. You can see every link, every anchor text phrase and more. It’s well worth it

Perhaps these are rare Forefox Plug-ins which we can’t find generating an ordinary search. I often browse Firefox’s plugins but couldn’t find there. Thanks for sharing it.
on June 28th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
SEO’s had better hope Yahoo doesn’t do as Google did and mess with their ‘linkdomain:’ query results.

Thanks!
