Great Collection of SEO Tools from SEOmoz

If you’ve never heard of SEOmoz.org, you need to check these guys out.  When it comes to SEO firms, SEOmoz is probably one of the most well-known and recognized for the great information and tools that they put out.  Here’s just a snippet from their site that explains their goal and mission:

Today I just wanted to highlight one section of their site that has a collection of all of their different tools along with tools from other great sites as well.  This page has a very fitting name: The Internet Marketing Handbook.

Not only does this site offer tools that you can use, but they’ve put together a great collection of articles and other resources from some of the following people:

  • and others.

All in all, SEOmoz has put together a great resource with this one.  Check it out and start using it!

That’s a great tip for folks that have not visited their site before. I always find stuff of interest there, and the particular page in question has some superb tools to use.

SEOmoz is a solid ressource in the field indeed. Haven’t got around to paying for the membership, some people say it’s worth it.

[Reply]

Dan Reply:

I haven’t either honestly. I only pay for things that I think I’ll frequently use, and I’m not sure that I would use their stuff enough to make me feel like it was worth it. Then again, I might change my mind if I started using them more

SEOmoz is a great website for SEO Information, if you become a PRO Member, you get access to one of the best sections of their website, which is Questions and Answers. You get access to their knowledge base, which in my opinion is just priceless!

[Reply]

Dan Reply:

Yeah, I can see that as being one of the most important parts of their membership. Thanks for the tip!

Hi, Thanks for mentioning a great site. But do we have to pay for getting all the services? I thought it is free.

[Reply]

Dan Reply:

Some of the tools are free, but others require being a paid member of SEOmoz, which is around $70 a month I think.

I have been checking what’s happening for a while on SEOmoz now and I discovered their tools. I did pay to verify how they work and there are great. What I would say is that they are simple and easy to use; and probably relatively easy to build - I am thinking to do this by myself - not free time tough.

If you ever find the time, let me know and I’ll post about it!

This site seems to supply great information. I did take notice to the $79.00 per month. Is it worth that amount of money?

[Reply]

Dan Reply:

I have never paid for it personally, and at this point I don’t know that i would. But that’s just me. If you need to learn more or really want to keep up to date on what’s going on in the SEO world, it might help. Maybe try it for a month and see?

Nice resources! I dont trust them all anyway. I have seen too many utilities like that in the Internet but they are all very inaccurate. I am going to give them a try anyway. I usually prefer to pay to get a quality service…

[Reply]

Dan Reply:

So sort of service would you prefer to pay for?

Thank’s not heard of SEOmoz before the set of tools they offer look very useful but not sure if I would pay without a bit more research first. gonzo-seo.com/seo-tools-review-seomoz-pro-membership/ These guys seem to rate them well seems quite encouraging.

Dan Reply:

Honestly I don’t pay for any of the tools at SEOmoz, but they have a great collection of stuff on that page. A lot of them are free as well.

Ok, I’m really new to this SEO stuff, and I’m trying to learn about a lot of it. I’ve read a lot about SEOmoz, but can someone tell me what necessarily the difference is between their SEO Analysis and a site like http://spydermate.com?

I’ve been using SM and I really like it, but I’m curious about SEOmoz and wondering if getting a membership with them would be worth it. Sites like SpyderMate are free, whereas SEOmoz seems pretty expensive… I guess I just want someone to explain to me the differences between free SEO sites and what SEOmoz does, and then justify paying for the membership.

[Reply]

Dan Reply:

Honestly I’ve never used Spydermate.com. What I’d recommend is look over the descriptions of the tools and if you find something similar for free, go for it! The other benefit to the SEOmoz membership is more access to their information and tips.

[Reply]

Eric RichardsonNovember 13th, 2008 at 5:18 pm

I’m not sure I could justify paying for information but to each their own. If it helps I guese why not..

[Reply]

Dan Reply:

That’s really what it comes down to in the end I guess.

It’s great to have a resource with links to all relevant tools on one page. My favorite remains the free Google Keyword Tool. Unless Overture’s old keyword tool resurfaces from the dead. I still miss that one!

[Reply]

Dan Reply:

I honestly don’t know what Yahoo is thinking by not resurrecting that tool. It was by far the most popular and successful keyword suggestion tool for a long time and they just let it die. Bad move if you ask me!

Actually we’ve still got it, but it’s combined into “Trifecta” which will do the same thing for a whole site or a blog (hence the “tri” part).

That is a shame you have to pay for the services before you can really try them out-it seems it would be nice to have a trail type set up; but reading these comments seems to indicate the membership is worth it for the services.

We think they’re worth it :) But we have a 30 day money back guarantee. So if you want to try it out and decide you don’t like it, you just got a free month.
