Getting Ready for the New Year
So 2008 is almost upon us. I don’t know if any of you believe in New Years Resolutions, but I think they’re basically a good idea. The problem with these Resolutions is that most people just casually set some type of goal and that’s why they never really achieve it.
How about doing things differently this year? What if instead of setting a New Year’s Resolution, you set a “2008 Plan of Attack”? In other words, you set some goals that you are actually planning on achieving and even set up a game plan for how you’re going to do it.
I’d like to give you a short quote from the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, then we’ll talk about how this applies to setting this Plan of Attack:
First. Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient to merely say ‘I want plenty of money.’ Be definite as to the amount. (There is a psychological reason for definiteness which will be described in a subsequent chapter).
Second. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as ’something for nothing.’)
Third. Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.
Fourth. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.
Fifth. Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.
Sixth. Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. AS YOU READ– SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MONEY.
So how does this apply to setting a Plan of Attack or Resolution for 2008? Well, most likely when you’re set goals or resolutions in the past you haven’t gone through all of these steps. Follow these steps for getting your internet business going this coming year. Set a definitely goal, decide when you want it to happen (being realistic of course), create your plan for carrying it out, and then keep that goal in your thoughts every day.
These steps apply to other areas of your life as well. You can use these steps for fitness goals, relationship goals, etc. Use these steps in the coming year and watch how your life changes!

I also believe people, including myself, set too many unrealistic goals as resolutions that are just too general. Let me try being more specific this year as you suggested and we’ll see if they really become resolutions. And then we go out and drink and forget about it

I believe in setting definite and measuarable goals such as is recommended by the quote from “Think and Grow Rich” I then know whether I reach my goal or not.
I also get to think in definite terms of how to arrive at the specific goal. I have done this many times and it works for me.

My resolution for 2008 is to strike a balance between learning about doing internet business and putting what I have learnt into action. I would like very much for 2008 to be a year of action.

Thanks for the motivational words. I noticed the whole category on your site. Sometimes some of us lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel and need to re-focus our paths.

Ironically, found this post while planning what needs to be done between now and the end of the year… This post just served as a reminder of how fast time flies.

Do you have something like this with regards to weight loss?
Example for step 1:
1) Fix in your mind the exact amount of weight you want to lose (realistically of course: an average of pound a week is realistic)
If not, where can I find one?

Hi,
Its funny and a little bit sad to look back over old posts. 3 years have passed and I have only just realised how little my internet business has changed.
Maybe next year, lol
