Do Some Offline Advertising!
In this blog I mainly focus on ways to market your business online. Whether you’re doing pay per click, search engine optimization, social media advertising, or anything else online you might be missing out if you aren’t also doing some offline advertising as well.
Now honestly, for an online business you will probably focus a lot of your time doing your online marketing. But have you noticed that a lot of online businesses do a ton of offline advertising as well? Look at sites like LegalZoom and others that always have radio and TV ads going.
One simple way that you can advertise your business offline is through brochures. Granted, this depends on your type of business, but you can create some brochures and have them displayed around town and possibly drum up some business that way.
The other good thing about doing brochures and some of the other printed means of advertising is that you can do brochure printing for pretty cheap these days. There are plenty of companies such as PsPrint.com that can help you with all of your online printing needs. These guys are one of the leaders in online brochure and business card printing, so if you’re looking for a quality company to help you get started in this arena they are one to look into.

Offline marketing can really help get those users that are kind of immune to online marketing it seems that there is an impression factor when they see your offline ad after skipping the online ad a couple of times…

Yes, it’s true, printing is cheap nowadays, but postage can get very expensive and conversion is usually very poor, so I don’t recommend mailings. Business cards and brochures, however, are a must when you go to industry meeting, trade shows, or local chamber of commerce mixers.

offline marketing is the very traditional way of marketing but really effective… the only slight problem is the cost… when printing is reasonably cheap the cost of postage is going up… need to be very smart at your financial strategy

Brochures cost more, but your consumers probably know that, too. I’d probably take a company I read about in a brochure a lot more seriously one I saw in Google Ads.
Granted, there are lots of other factors that play in, like the nature of your business and product.
Also, while it’s a lot easier to generate a click from someone who’s already on a computer, it might be a lot easier to target your market geographically or socio-economically via mailings.
Point is, print advertising isn’t dead. Not yet, at least.

We’ll see what happens as time goes on, but it definitely isn’t dead yet!
I also agree that it really depends on your market and the response of your audience. If it doesn’t work for your business, try something else.

I have about 9800 out of 10000 flyers still somewhere in a box. Why? It is not easy to distribute such amount of flyers. And the effect? You won’t notice it in your website statistic if you already have 3 digit number of visitors per day. Keep in mind that “CTR” is about 3% which means only 300 people out of potential 10.000 would visit my site. So advertising through brochures is neither simple nor efficient.

In the end you have to do what works for you. Some businesses do pretty well with them, but others don’t. It’s something that you might consider testing, but if it doesn’t work out too well consider doing something else.

Good point Adidas. You need to make sure that you have a budget for it and don’t spend money you shouldn’t.

budget is the playing factor in offline advertising… however you can do the online advertising with an ease and sometimes at the cost of less money…… so if you are willing to spend some good bucks for offline promotion then go ahead because it is not a bad point at all…..

i agree that doing things online is for the most part cheaper. But I also think that especially a lot of dropship businesses might be missing out on some good local advertising if they aren’t going offline with it as well.
