A Little Motivation…
I’m not normally one to use movie quotes as a way to improve attitude, but I felt that this was a good one. In fact, you can get brownie points if you can name the movie that this came from. Here’s the quote to think about for today:
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!
Life hits, and its true that when it hits it tends to hit pretty hard. But if you’re going to make your business succeed, you’ve got to be willing to take those hits and then get back up and keep going. You’re better than that!
Keep that in mind the next time you feel like you can’t do it. Others have done it, so why not you? Maybe you have circumstances; everyone does. Maybe you have other things going on; everyone does. It’s a matter of deciding what you want to have happen and working for it. Maybe it will take you a little bit longer, but you can get there.
This applies to everything in life. Whether you’re trying to lose weight, build a business, or whatever. You have to stick with it.

100% true about the need to keep going even when you feel like you can’t do it.
I’ve found this to be true in business building especially. It can be so easy to feel like you can’t succeed, but if you can keep in mind that others have done it, and so can you if you sincerely dedicate yourself to making it work.

That’s a solid outlook on life. And I have no problem admitting the recent Rocky was actually a good watch. And I’m glad they went with that ending. Watching the special features, the other ending isn’t as powerful, in my opinion.

I loved the quote, though I don’t think it’s from Rocky. I have seen Rocky 1 to 5 and its not in any of those, unless its from the most recent Rocky (Rocky 6)

For me, I found that reading quotes (especially from Zig Ziglar) really motivates me.
Quotes are life lessons compressed in 1-2 sentences. We can learn a lot by reading & studying quotes.
In case of movie, I really enjoy the lessons in “Bedazzled”. Yes Liz Hurley is so gorgeous in this movie but the lesson is that we always think that other people’s life are better than us.
But the truth is, if we take time to know ourselves and our strength, we will find out that we are much better and luckier than most people in this planet.

Great quote. I believe life is not easy, specially if one’s goal or purpose is higher and higher. But think about this way, when you achieve the goal, how good one can feel and will motivate to hit or courage to take the next hit. To me, I set a short term goal and long term goal to keep up my life. Never lose a HOPE.

taking action is the way forward to getting things done and the best form of motivation. For every setback get off your but and deliver something good to make up for it.

That is a wonderful quote. I agree with the above comment that motivation really needs to come from within. You can have those around you support you and try to get you motivated, but if you are not motivated yourself, then there is no way that you will meet your expectations. I find that finding the motivation is the hardest thing to do in life. We all want things to come to us in life, not a whole lot of people are truly willing to go out and get it themselves!

Being motivated and not giving up is demonstrated by many young people who have talent and work hard to reach their dreams.
I was impressed by those on “So You Think You Can Dance.” Now followed by the Olympics. The ones who survive the competition just to make it to the finals are so dedicated that they let nothing stand between them and their dreams. And they blame no one else but themselves if they fall short.
Those of us in business need to have such tenacity. We have to keep working, keep marketing, and not give up.
Success comes to those who believe in themselves in spite of circumstances. Instead being discouraged, winners set out to change their circumstances.

I totally agree with Linda. It is tough to persevere with what you believe despite negativity comments from others (i.e. my family) who don’t understand or are too sacred to attempt something different. You have to believe 100% in yourself to achieve what you set out to achieve.

Rocky was only one of the few shows where the sequels are actually better than the first. The other one was Godfather.
