A Little More on Excuses

I came across this Nike commercial a while back and thought that it was a great example of overcoming excuses. This guy goes through a whole bunch of excuses you could give yourself. Granted it is more of a sports/athletic approach, but how many times have you made the same excuses for other things in life?
Watch this video and then share with me below what you think:

Haha great commercial. I think we’re all guilty of this.
[Reply]
Whenever I think of giving up I just think of what I want to obtain - goals..without them it’s real easy to make excuses, good post
[Reply]
I think we all do this from time to time, but what a great commercial to keep the motivation up and to avoid all the excuses!
[Reply]
Great commercial, very motivating!
[Reply]
Great commercial…
[Reply]
Another great nike commercial - did not see the end coming.
[Reply]
wow, we deal with excuses everyday with our clients. I’ve got to find this and use this in every session we teach. thanks for posting
[Reply]
Nike have some great adverts, I shall use this with our clients too
[Reply]
Great example of the should’a, could’a, would’a crowd. Excuses don’t cut it.
[Reply]
Good commercial but the wheelchair thing doesn’t really hammer the point home, it makes the message of the commercial more ambigious to me
[Reply]
Solid commercial
[Reply]
Perfect!
How many times have we all been in “excuse” mode, then came across someone who had it MUCH tougher than we do - and it takes all the excuses away - pronto!
[Reply]
The comments they leave are thinly-veiled garbage and certainly less-than-genuine, but that’s not surprising, considering the nature of the incoming traffic.
[Reply]
Haha, loved the commercial!
[Reply]
I was stunned at the end, I won’t spoil the ending for anyone.
But.. I can relate to some of these things i heard the guy say. When I was on the track team, I heard several people use alot of those excuses. “I have shin splints”, etc.. But in the end this commercial makes you realize that hey you just really need to do it.
[Reply]
nice find on that commercial. who likes excessive excuses?
[Reply]
Hi There,
The video was just amazing. I think it highlighted one point that most of us have ready excuses in our life and probably one of the reason why most of the people don’t go ahead in their life.
Ending of the vedio was certaily stunning highlighting that when there is a will there is a way and of course no excuse.
[Reply]
well there is one valid excuse in this environment - the economy and the destruction of the web commerce market, especially on the advertiser supported models.
[Reply]
This commercial has concept , idea, and motivation .
Powerful !
[Reply]
Very good powerful message to the advert, I didn’t see the end coming either.
[Reply]
Je,je… Great Commercial !!
[Reply]
I don’t know why but that really moved me. I feel like I’m more determined then ever now.
I’m gonna try not to make excuses anymore (not that I really think I was anyway, but still)
[Reply]
If there’s a will, there’s a way. This saying may be considered as cliche now; but it still holds true. Determination and perseverance are two important keys to make you do–and finish–what you have to. Making excuses won’t get you anywhere.
[Reply]
Actually I don’t like it. The guy is pretty look like an NFL player not an NBA player. Too many frames and is being tired for my eyes.
[Reply]
Nike has good commercials.
Most of them take my soul!
[Reply]
Very interesting audio course! It seems to have a lot of valuable information. Keep up the good work!

great video….thanks for encouraging.
[Reply]
Sometimes we forget why are we doing what we are doing and find excuses for everything. Motivation needs to be At all times, every day.

great editing on that commercial. it really pulls you into the message. nike is lucky inasmuch as their slogan is a also a great motto on which to base your life…
[Reply]
Great commercial. it hammers the point home, even for an entrepreneur crowd.
[Reply]
Ouch - that last scene really gives you a kick. Ernie Small - that slogan is no piece of luck, I bet a lot of work went into coming up with that.

[Reply]
A great commercial with a powerful message.
[Reply]
Interested commercial
what a bunch of excuses.
[Reply]
Seems like a good msg, although i doubt my motivation in life will dramatically rise because of it
[Reply]
Wow, that’s really powerful. Can’t say I agree with prev, while it may not make a huge difference it definitely makes me think about the choices I make and why I decide to take the easy route in a lot of situations.
[Reply]
Interesting. Although it is related to sports, the same can be seen in almost any context. Making excuses is probably of the biggest reasons for not succeeding in most walks of life, as we often find making excuses to ourselves for putting important tasks on hold.
[Reply]
Great commercial there with a really strong message; we can all take something away from it.
[Reply]
I too have ever used any such excuse.
Great comercial.
[Reply]
I love it - I’m in Australia and never seen this before. I wish they’d air it here, I think a lot of laid back Aussie’s need to hear that!
[Reply]
Thanks for posting such kind of usefull information.Keep Posted in future as well.Thank you!
[Reply]
This is so true. People use excuses all the time instead of focusing on positive aspects - they should do things when they’re still able to instead of complaining “I wish I still could work out 6 times a week/ fun a marathon/whatever” whe in fact they’ve never done those things when they had a chance.
[Reply]
They say that if you can do something today you should never prospone it. That’s true. Even with that in the back of your head i find it is always difficult to start something. Once you get going, the things work out by itself. Never loose vision and always keep you eyes and mind on the goal. Thanks for the inspiring video.
[Reply]
I loved it …..gr8 thanx a ton for sharing…keep sharing more we are waiting…!

Nike is great at making commercials, and this is another good one. It’s true in all aspects of life, though, we all make excuses to ourselves and to others.
[Reply]
solid add :p
[Reply]
Love this commercial!
[Reply]
Great commercial!…as always with nike.
[Reply]
You know, excuses are a part of everyone’s life. Without them we’d feel constantly guilty about everything. Not to say they’re a good thing, but sometimes they’re necessary.
[Reply]
This is one you really have to see to the end to really appreciate! I know that I can come up with some excuses, but find that when I just do it, instead of thinking about doing something, everything turns out much better!
[Reply]
Amazing commercial, thank you!
[Reply]
A Little More on Excuses - nice commercial !

[Reply]
DO you make a excuse for something in someday? But sometimes love is the most important reason!
[Reply]
Nike all day
[Reply]
I think that is a really great commercial and it speaks volumes on many levels-you could even apply it to your blog. If you keep the content fresh and intriging, then readers will continue to come and increased traffic will help with your page ranks.
[Reply]
I admire this Nike commercial. Yes, we need no more excuses as long as we have goals in our heart, we should just do it.
[Reply]
Thanks for posting such kind of usefull information.

I love your concepts. Simple, down to earth and easy to understand.
Great commercial.
[Reply]
Even when excuses are valid, they don’t sound good. Wouldn’t’ it be nice if we could just jump in and do anything we want without any reservations?
[Reply]
haha okay that video is pretty funny and just provided me with even more excuses to use in the future. Thanks for the good laugh.

[Reply]
I found the commercial very motivating. The guy is packing energy. Just liked it.
[Reply]
An insightful post.Will definitely help.
Thanks,
Steve
[Reply]
Its kind of funny how no one likes excuses - even when they’re really good ones. I find it is often best to just apologize and make sure to avoid whatever behavior or action caused you to need excuses in the first place
[Reply]
Sometimes it’s difficult to stay positive, but it’s all about having a positive mental attitude.
Good vid.
[Reply]
Good post, but have you thought about eComm tips before?

[Reply]
A ver informative post!!!
[Reply]
Thanks for this post……..
[Reply]
Well I must say it’s really brilliant.
[Reply]
This is so true.
It doesn’t matter how much work I do on myself to open my awareness of those inner voices that hold me back, every time I just discover another one.
Yet another lie I tell myself out of fear so that I won’t to do those things that scare me. So that I won’t put myself into the risk of failing and disappointing.
My all-time-favorite is: “I don’t REALLY want to do this. It’s not REALLY what I’m dreaming of.”
I tell myself that a lot.
Thanks for the post, it helped me better see this huge excuse.
[Reply]
I am going to bookmark this whenever I feel fat & lazy. This totally fired me up.
Thanks.
[Reply]
It is a great idea by this post.
[Reply]
It is a really great nike commercial and thought that it was a great example of overcoming excuses
[Reply]
I know its not ethical to lie or whatever, but I really do not care at this point. What are some good excuses you have used in the past, that didn’t draw up a whole lot of suspicion? Yes the truth would work…but I don’t want to use it!
[Reply]
As usual another great commercial from Nike.
[Reply]
lame excuses always laid down the greatness of the person, The video is no doubt a good present about such like of things.
[Reply]
this commercial is really interesting. this is also a motivationalk commercial. i like it.
[Reply]
Cool commercial. Thanks for sharing!
[Reply]
Great commercial. it hammers the point home, even for an entrepreneur crowd.

Everyone makes excuses at some point in their life. You have to learn to suck it up and be accountable for you actions (or lack of actions). Great commercial.
[Reply]
I swear I have seen that guy before in something else, anybody know who he is?
[Reply]
The guys plays basketball!!! he looks like a NFL player (well until you find out he is in a wheel chair)…
I think people get “reasons” and “excuses” mixed up…
[Reply]
i think this is reasons.
[Reply]
Excuses i have them a lot

[Reply]
Really great video. It goes to my Youtube faves
[Reply]
great load of link for this week, keep up the good work
[Reply]
Hi,
truly awesome video, great concept, expertly done and very inspiring and moving… but ultimately for a completely dour, nonsense reason: to promote a company that routinely profits from child labour…. and as such this advert is utterly manipulative…
[Reply]
great. like this video
[Reply]
Its a great tips by this video. Thanks a lot for sharing this.

Nice commercial.what a group of excuses. It seems to have a lot of valuable information. Keep up the good work!

I am so impressed with this commercial.
The timing of the acting, format and action are impeccable.
Reminds me of 19th century’s author, Emily Dickinson’s, rules for writing poetry. “A poem should be brief with aim to take the readers head off.”
I have to say, that this commercial does everything of which Emily would have approved.
Simply great!

LOL, nice find on that commercial.

Life is full of excuses, don’t you think? We are all bound to make excuses most of the time. This commercial is one way of depicting what we do in our day-to-day lives.
